The Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV-2)<\/strong> is present in the semen of some patients with COVID-19, including recovering patients, according to a study published online on the JAMA Network Open.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Diangeng Li, PhD, from the Chinese People's Liberation Army General Hospital in Beijing, and his colleagues examined all male patients with confirmed COVID-19<\/strong> between January 26 and February 16, 2020, at Shangqiu Municipal Hospital. Thirty-eight registered patients were asked to give a sperm sample for testing SARS-CoV-2.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Of the 38 participants, 23 had succeeded clinical recovery<\/strong> and 15 were at acute stage of infection<\/strong>. The researchers found that 6 patients (15.8%) had positive results for SARS-CoV-2<\/strong>, including 4 who were in the acute stage of infection and 2 who recovered (26.7 and 8.7%, respectively). Patients with negative and positive test results did not differ in age<\/strong>, the history of urogenital diseases<\/strong>,the days of hospitalization<\/strong> or days after clinical recovery.<\/span><\/p>\n

THE spermatogenesis<\/strong> still occurs in men with testicular cancer<\/span><\/h3>\n

THE spermatogenesis<\/strong> occurs in most men with testicular cancer<\/strong>, often away from tumors<\/strong>, according to a study published online at BJU International.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Jemma A. Moody, of King's College London, and her colleagues looked back 103 testicular stem cell tumors<\/strong> (TGCTs) in men who underwent radical orchidectomy<\/strong> (between 2011 and 2015) in order to estimate its frequency and prognostic factors spermatogenesis<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The researchers found that spermatogenesis<\/strong> was present in the patients' 70%. THE spermatogenesis<\/strong> was widespread in the 63% of these patients and focal in the 38%. His type volume<\/strong>, the stage<\/strong>, the presence micro-determination<\/strong> and tumor markers did not predict spermatogenesis. Spermatogenesis was 82% less likely<\/strong> in men with a percentage of possession testicular volume> 50% in their testes versus those with a testicular volume holding rate <50%.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

"These findings can help predict and guide of successful sperm retrieval surgery in testes with TGCT<\/strong>", Write the researchers. "The finding of the focal point spermatogenesis<\/strong> in a third of patients will support a mmicrosurgical approach to sperm retrieval at the time of orchiectomy to maximize success. \u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
